Flushing

The neighborhood of Flushing is considered to be a birthplace of religious freedom in America. After the community's founding in 1645, English colonist John Bowne broke the law by allowing Quaker meetings in his home, eventually leading to the right for all to worship freely. Today, Flushing is a diverse neighborhood with a number of distinct subsections. When you rent in Flushing, you can choose among a variety of residential styles, all convenient to a large commercial and retail district. The area boasts many landmark buildings, along with parks, libraries and Flushing Chinatown, a major center of Chinese culture.
